As winter sets in we reflect on the impact of propagating to ensure the survival of rare plants such as the Wollemi Pine and our very own Round-leafed Pomaderris. National Tree Day is coming up later this month, with our own KLG planting to take place on Sunday 2nd August 2026. Join us!

Rare and endangered in Victoria, but, abundant in some Kinglake locations e.g. Wombelano Falls – Kinglake National Park and the Bollygum Park Playground & Reserve.

Large, spreading tree up to 20 metres. Indigenous to Kinglake area. Fast growing with a life span of 30 – 50 years.

We take joy in seeing the Common Heath Epacris impressa adding a splash of colour to the roadsides through the Autumn & Winter months. Fencers Without Boundaries continues its work in the fire affected area of Upper Goulburn.

We give thanks again to the great turnout of volunteers for our Clean Up Australia Day at Wallaby Springs Reserve in Kinglake West. Upper Goulburn Landcare Network (UGLN) is continuing with its work to restore fencing in bushfire affected areas of the Shire.

A great turnout of volunteers for our Clean Up Australia Day at Wallaby Springs Reserve in Kinglake West. Upper Goulburn Landcare Network (UGLN) has been rolling out its new team Fencers Without Boundaries to assist with restoration of fencing in bushfire affected areas of the Shire.

Bushfires aided by the historically low rainfall in the new year dominated our attention when some of our members in Upper Goulburn Landcare Network (UGLN) lost animals and property. Fortunately, since late last year, UGLN has been setting up a fencing team for such occasions with equipment generously donated by a retiring United Church fencing team.

Bushfires dominated our attention in the Upper Goulburn district in January 2026. As climate change amplifies the weather extremes we must develop the best responses to bushfire threats.
